Recitals and Venues
Each summer, the festival and institute sponsors 7-8 well-attended recitals in a number of beautiful venues in the Veneto and Treviso regions. Formal venues include such sites as Asolo’s famous Teatro Duse and Sala della Ragione, Castelfranco’s Teatro Accademico, and the world renowned Palladian Villa, the Villa Barbaro. Less formal public venues include the Teatro degli Istituti Filippin and the Villa Fior Theater. Young Artists perform in multiple recitals, singing or playing repertoire (song, solo-piano, and chamber) selected in conjunction with the faculty. Young Artists also participate in a performance of opera scenes or an evening of American ballads. In addition, Young Artists receive admission to other local music events and operas including Consortium faculty concerts.
* Because of the limited number of Young Artists in the program, the concert/repertoire schedule is both intense and rewarding. The typical Young Artist will sing varied repertoire in 6-8 concerts and 3-4 master classes. This adds up to many times the experience offered by other programs.
